I also speculated that my mother kept me out but that made me the scape goat. I added that when my paternal grandmother died, we never went back to that side of the family again. I believe my mother quit the “society” at that time. After that, bad shit was always happening to her. Bad car accident followed by a diagnosis of cancer about 6 months after, when I was 11 and died a year later. She was the only person I had a bond with at the time, so I was distraught at the funeral, and I remember that I caused a huge scene when people were visiting and laughing at the funeral.
